According to St Cyril's Diamond Julibee Book (1959), a plot measuring 360 by 484 feet was purchased from Nick and Charlie Blake on December 10th, 1886 as the site for the parish cemetery. It was consecrated in 1889, during the pastorate of Rev. Leopold Moczygemba (1824-1891). Rev. Moczygemba is noted for being the pastor of the first Polish church in the United States in Pana Maria, Texas in 1854 as well as St Cyril's which was completed in 1884. Many tombstones are written in Polish. A note in parish interment records infers that the first person buried in the cemetery was Constance Stefanski on April 1st, 1887.
