This view is circa 1908 and the "widow's walk railing is still on top of the tower. The utility pole appears ready to fall down.

 

This picture appears to have been taken in the late 1930's. The city hall and jail is still in use today. The two buildings on the left were razed for parking along Fremont Street.
In the course of seventy years, the steeple was removed and a police station was added in the vacant lot.
