Blue Goose or Mae West Sante Fe Steam engine c. 1940's

The Blue Goose, also know as Mae West c. 1940's

This beautiful streamlined steam engine ran between Chicago and La Junta, Colorado. It is seen here going under the Route 83 bridge near Sag on the East side of Lemont.

Santa Fe Super Chief, near Lemont, Cook County, Illinois

This picture was taken circa 1938. One of a new breed of engines.

Grand Canyon The "Grand Canyon" Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway, 25 miles out of Chicago going through Lemont on a 50 plus hour trip to Los Angeles, CA. This train had more stops along the way. On this run, some cars were unhooked at Williams, Arizona for a trip to the Canyon rim.
